Brockton is a rural municipality featuring prime fly fishing along the Saugeen and Teeswater rivers, Cargill’s Pickin’ by the Pond country and bluegrass music festival each July, the Walkerton Little Royal Fair, cycling and cross-country skiing on the multi-use Saugeen River Rail Trail, and southwestern Ontario's largest private garden at Folmer Botanical Gardens.

Brockton is located in the agricultural heartland of Bruce County, east of Kincardine and west of Hanover.

Brockton is a full-service community with a range of government services, schools and childcare, a hospital, community centres, and even flying lessons at the Saugeen Municipal Airport. Outdoor recreation includes golf, fishing, hiking, paddling the Saugeen River, and snowmobiling and cross-country skiing in winter. 

Business opportunities are available in manufacturing, retail, housing and construction, agriculture, and professional services, with business supports to help grow new enterprises. 

More than half of Brockton's residents live in Walkerton, which houses Bruce County’s administrative offices and government services, provincial and federal agencies, a regional hospital, courthouse, schools and the provincially-run Walkerton Clean Water Centre.
